Biography
Jane Mackarell is the Business Group Director for Modern Work and Surface at Microsoft Australia and New Zealand. In this role she leads a team who help people and organisations achieve more, regardless of where they are working from, through Microsoft’s Modern Work, productivity and learning solutions.
Jane works with organisations to transform their employee experience, through enhanced collaboration and productivity, enabled by Microsoft technology.
Her 25-year career in the technology industry includes roles in industry and product marketing, sales management, academic programs and industry partnerships.
Jane has a particular passion for the Education sector – leading programs, marketing and sales for the K-12 sector for many years. She partnered with all Australian State Departments of Education where she was instrumental in driving teacher and leader capacity during the pandemic; as well as programs to inspire indigenous students using innovative technology.
Passionate about Australia’s First Nations people, in terms of access to technology use and education, Jane leads Microsoft’s Indigenous Employee Resource Group which, celebrates and drives awareness of Indigenous culture and communities within the Microsoft workplace.
Prior to Microsoft, Jane worked in editorial and marketing roles for academic publishing houses in New York and London.
